Pre-Congress ICPF 2026 – Hands-On Training for Surgeons and Anesthesiologists

Experience what truly works in cleft care. This two-day pre-congress programme, held under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, offers highly practical, hands-on training that bridges the gap between theory and real-world clinical practice. Participants can choose between two specialized educational tracks — Surgery or Anesthesia — each designed to provide deep, skill-based learning using the latest simulation technologies and cadaveric dissection.
The Surgery Track focuses on primary cleft lip and palate repair, with hands-on practice using high-fidelity silicone models under the guidance of world-renowned experts. On the second day, the programme shifts to a cadaver course centered on advanced secondary procedures, with a special emphasis on rhinoplasty in cleft patients.
The Anesthesia Track delivers practical training in regional anesthesia techniques, including ultrasound-guided approaches, silicone model practice, and virtual patient simulation. Participants will also gain valuable hands-on experience with cadaver-based training in regional blocks and anesthetic strategies tailored to cleft surgeries.

Dinner with Faculty
Brno is known as the birthplace of Johann Gregor Mendel, the father of modern genetics. For this reason, our social evening could take place nowhere else but the historic Mendel Greenhouse, located within the grounds of the Augustinian Abbey, where Mendel conducted his groundbreaking experiments. The evening will include a guided tour of the Mendel Museum, followed by dinner with faculty in this truly unique and inspiring setting.
Venue
The pre-congress will take place in Brno, the second-largest city in the Czech Republic. Located approximately 2 hours from Prague Airport and just 1.5 hours from Vienna Airport, Brno is easily accessible by bus or train. After the conclusion of the pre-congress programme, organized transport to Prague will be arranged for all participants attending the main ICPF 2026 congress.
