Andrej Sukop

Prof. Andrej Sukop is a Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Královské Vinohrady University Hospital in Prague, affiliated with the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. Prof. Andrej Sukop is currently President of the Czech Society of Plastic Surgery.

He completed his medical degree at Charles University in Prague and obtained board certification in general surgery (1996) and plastic surgery (2001). He earned his PhD in 2006, focusing on vascular anatomy of the hand in relation to replantation surgery.

His clinical and academic work is focused on microsurgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, and congenital anomalies of the limbs and face. In the craniofacial field, he specializes particularly in auricular reconstruction in patients with microtia. He is actively involved in multidisciplinary care of patients with cleft lip and palate and collaborates closely with specialists in otorhinolaryngology and maxillofacial surgery.

Prof. Sukop has completed multiple international fellowships and training stays (USA, UK, Sweden, Taiwan and others). He is a member of several national and international professional societies, including ESPRAS and ISAPS, and has authored numerous scientific publications and presentations in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
