Surgical Techniques for Palatal Lengthening and Correction of Velopharyngeal Insufficiency

We are pleased to invite you to the SMILE TRAIN Speech Surgery Course, which will focus primarily on Furlow palatoplasty as a key technique for palatal lengthening and improvement of velopharyngeal function.

 

The course is designed primarily for plastic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, ENT specialists, and pediatric surgeons involved in the care of cleft patients.

In addition to an in-depth focus on Furlow palatoplasty, the course will also introduce other surgical approaches, particularly the pharyngeal flap. We will discuss their indications, advantages and limitations, as well as how to select the most appropriate technique for individual patients.
